Thank you lovely. For me , Once I said I would rather die than break no contact. Say it when the hurt and bad memories come in. Then my subconscious wouldn’t let me because inner pride , even as I work on self worth It’s like my SOUL was watching me to see what I’m about to do to us and hence have no one but myself to blame from now on. 2) also knowing that even one word. I cannot get through ONE DAY without my current husband starting something! That word you used….’contempt’….is exactly the word that has been coming to mind mind in recent days. That man has nothing but contempt for me. I know I need to get out…..I WANT out…..but I cannot afford it financially. Unless someone is in that position, they cannot tell me that I should have no problem leaving with the clothes on my back! When I was married to my first husband, we could go years without a disagreement…..and even then, most of our disagreements were ironed out without us raising our voices and acting stupid…..we were respectful. I went years without crying. I felt so cared for and safe that I was asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow! I miss that feeling of total calmness and laughter…..just so peaceful in our home. But my first husband died. We were married 31 years. So when I hear others say that we get ‘addicted to the abuse’ and the chemicals that are released in our body when we are abused…..NOT HERE! I was addicted to the total peace I used to have! I’m sorely missing it! I was raised in an abusive home….couldn’t wait to get out of there! I’m ‘addicted to’ a peaceful loving home that my first husband and I created with our sons. I cannot quit imagining it happening again! At my age (67), and with the ailments I am now suffering at the hands of my narc husband, I am stuck for the time being….constantly trying to get unstuck…..it doesn’t look so good at the moment.

My narcissistic boyfriend gave everyone in his family, and me, our christmas list assignments of what they were supposed to give him. I was broke and I would alway give everyone a book for christmas, but he wanted a tie and matching suspenders. It was very expensive, more than I was spending on anyone. Basically, about as much as everyone else put together. And he didn't ask what I wanted, he got me what HE wanted me to have: perfume. I NEVER wear perfume. I went to see my mom after christmas and showed her the perfume. Her friend really liked it. I gave it to to the friend.

My mom did not let me have friends or hobbies or even family relationships growing up. She told me my family didn't care for me and told them I was a crazy bad witch child. She told neighbors the same. She homeschooled she said bc I was too sick with asthma to go to school while she refused to give me my asthma maintenance meds.
